Turbo Book
In 2020, Vasily Volkov, together with his wife Anna-Alexandra, created, compiled and published the world's first book about Turbo inserts - "Turbo. When childhood begins with 51" (ISBN 978-5-907250-62-8). The book grew out of Vasily Volkov's regular author's publications on his Zen channel "Societe Turbo". The publications were dedicated to the cars depicted on the inserts of the second series (Turbo No. 51-120). Each publication included a story about one insert (with the exception of the one that included all motorcycles in the series), and each had the same sections: about the insert, about the car, characteristics, facts, in games, scale models. Thanks to the successful format and unified structure of the publication, it was possible to turn it into chapters of the book with minimal changes.
The book contains many memories and nostalgic moments for children of the 90s, while the book is primarily about cars - about the popular and beloved yangtimers today. Eh! How nice it is to look at normal gasoline sedans and real two-door coupes with simple and therefore so well-perceived shapes again. I just want to bring automprom back to the junction of the 80s and 90s.
It is worth mentioning the photos separately. Most of them are copyrighted, belonging to those photographers who have licensed their work under Creative Commons for the benefit of society. But there are also those whose permission to use was given by their authors personally. In addition, Polish artist Marcin Adamczyk did not just provide his finished works, he created sketches specifically for the book!
The book was being prepared for a long time, but the community was waiting for it, so most of the limited edition was sold out before the book was published. There is no electronic version, and it is not planned. The present must be present.
The first 70 books of the edition were marked with exclusive stickers in the form of Turbo inserts of the second series (51-120). Authenticity was confirmed by the signature of the author. Thus, each of the 70 books was numbered and absolutely unique. Many books were also signed by the author in accordance with the wishes of the buyers.
