Turbo Comrades and Sergey Znaemsky (Autoreview) at Auto Weekend 2023

Researches

Research on Turbo inserts began in 2013 as a small private hobby, represented by small publications on the site. In 2017, regular format publications began on the popular Zen channel "Societé Turbo" and in the VK community "Turbo Comrades", the search for source images for inserts and the study of their unusual features began. In 2020, the publications turned into chapters of the book "Turbo. When childhood begins with 51", published in 300 copies. In parallel, a systematic approach was developed to the search, purchase, and transportation of European and American printed publications (books and periodicals) containing the original photographs for the inserts — i.e. the same publications that were used by the editors of the series.

Today, we believe that the search for original photos is the basis of our research, the key to information about the car. Often such findings lead to obtaining the most detailed information about the car displayed on the insert, and allow you to accurately determine the configuration. Sometimes it is possible to find out the place of the meeting, the name of the photographer or artist, the identity of the owner or the person behind the creation of the car. And not only to find out, but also to get to know each other personally!
